Born 1899 in Sydney, he was a WW1 veteran, losing a leg in battle. CDSFA President for 31 consecutive seasons spanning 1933 to 1963. Died in 1975

WILLIAM (BILL) BRACKENBURY* 1965

Born 1907 in Sydney, he served as the CDSFA’s Secretary/Treasurer continuously for a quarter of a century, Secretary of the former NSW Amateur Soccer Football Association from 1957 to 1965 and was founding member of Hurlstone Park Wanderers Soccer Football Club at the age of 16. Died 1968.

TOM SANDERS* 1971

Tom collated and typed MSC’s newsletter and match reports onto a Gestentner stencil every week with wife Hazel and set up nets and marked lines at Mackey Park. He also oversaw CDSFA’s competition game schedule, without computer assistance and helped start the Players’ Relief Fund. Born in 1918. Died 1995.

REGINALD (REG) ALLAN GREY* 1975
Honour bestowed: 1 December 1975. Positions held: President; Executive Committee; Representative Team Coach. Foundation Member and Life Member, Enfield Rovers Soccer Club.
Reg served in a number of roles on the CDSFA executive committee before eventually serving as President. He mentored a number of aspiring administrators including Life Member and CDSFA CEO Ian Holmes. Born in 1926. Died 2012, aged 85.

VINCE LAWS* 1977

Vince coached teams at the Canterbury Club for 33 consecutive years, including both Premier League grades for nine years, with the reserve grade squad winning the premiership for six consecutive years, for which he was presented with the CDSFA’s Perpetual Trophy. Born in 1929. Died in 2020.

ALBERT (BERT) HARVEY* 1977

Bert was a stalwart of Marrickville Soccer Club over four decades, serving in senior club positions and also serving in various positions with CDSFA, involving an array of football activities. Born in 1915. He died in 2006.
The Association’s Fair Play award, “The Bert Harvey Fair Play Award”, is named in his honour.
TONY GERAGHTY * 1979

His death at the age of 50 from lung cancer robbed the CDSFA of a valuable mentor for club administrators and a person of balanced and fair judgment. Born in 1929. Died in 1979.

Kabbara spent over 20 years on the committee of the Canterbury Referee’s Association where he has held many offices over the years, including President. Very active on the board of Football Canterbury, Kabbara was an important bridge between the Association, CRA, and emerging communities.
He is a Life Member of the CRA, a recipient of the Cec Barlow Award, and winner of the Chairman’s Award from Western Sydney Wanderers for his work with diverse communities. He has also served as president for both Punchbowl United FC and Australian National Sports Club. Born in 1981.
