CROSS RIVER BATTLE
And so, finals begin – well in the Grace Martin Trophy anyway – in what was a final round last Sunday that has shaken the division up.
Semi-finals are set for play at the venue the late Grace Martin called her second home, Bennett Park. A fitting tribute considering the Association’s elder statesman passed during the season.
MILESTONE MOMENTS & FINALS AMBITIONS
You’d think the final week of July couldn’t bring any more interest and intrigue to that which has been displayed across the Grace Martin Trophy and Bill Brackenbury Cups this past month. But that is just what we have. While some may already know if they will be taking to the field in finals, there are only a few who know where they will finally finish.
These fields would be delivered using modern technology and cork infill, which has already been successfully implemented at other all-weather surfaces in the Inner West and across Sydney, including at Lambert Park and Tempe Reserve. The design would seek to incorporate disability access for a range of sporting activities.

COMPETITION OPENS UP IN GMT
In what feels like a rarity in recent weeks, football was played, and with it came some interesting results….well actually upsets! It may be the middle of Winter, but football is just heating up!
TITANS DOUBLE IN ANOTHER WET ROUND
It has been the one reliable constant so far this Winter – wet weather arrives on weekends. Despite that, several fixtures were able to be contested this past week. And interestingly a few of them resulted in movements on the competition ladder.
A LEGEND FALLS QUIET
The wet has continued to disrupt the competition with only limited fixtures being contested over the past week. However, what was played did catch the eye of some.
Vale Grace Martin
It is with great sadness that Football Canterbury advises our community football members and constituents of the passing of Grace Martin.
