12 Team Leagues: Almost ready to split

Published Thu 16 Jun 2022

If you're playing in a league with 11 or 12 teams, your competition will soon be split into two: a top six and a bottom five/six.

For most leagues, this coming round will be the final weekend you will be combined, with the league split once all matches have been completed. Following the league split, the fixtures for the remainder of the season will be announced as soon as possible.

Please note that teams are to continue to perform on merit prior to the split of these divisions. Should evidence support otherwise, teams may be subject to further investigation/penalty.

For those in the following three leagues, it will take an extra week until your competition splits:

  • AA5
  • AA10
  • 35/6

This extra week is due to rescheduled fixtures because of wet weather and ground unavailability earlier in the season, so additional matches in your league need to be played. This means that some teams do not have a game scheduled for the weekend of 25-26 June.

FAQ

What happens if we are tied on points with another team?

When teams are tied on points, the ranking procedure is outlined in the Rules of Association (section 1.8).

Do we lose points when the league splits?

When the league is split, all competition points and the record of goals scored for and against will be carried into the new split league.

Will we still play finals if we are in the bottom six?

Provided that weather and ground availability make it possible, all leagues will have finals football for the top four teams. This includes both split divisions.
