Anthony D’Agruma has ended his tenure as a Director of Canterbury & District Soccer Football Association after completing his fourth consecutive term, the maximum allowed as per the CDFSA constitution.
The D’Agruma name is synonymous with football in the Canterbury region, specifically with Strathfield FC where his entire family have been closely tied with the club.
D’Agruma’s service to football is not limited to his eight years on the board of CDSFA as finance director but reaches all the way back to his time as a junior player: he has been playing in CDSFA competitions for 45+ years, with all but two of them at Strathfield FC.
As well as playing, D’Agruma has had 20 continuous years of coaching at the club, is the longest serving ground official at the club, and has had 18+ years as a committee member at Strathfield FC.
Awarded Citizen of the Year by the Strathfield Council in 2019, D’Agruma has also been recognised as a Vince & Val Laws Medal recipient 2019 and a Cec Barlow Award recipient in 2013. In 2017 he received the Pride of Workmanship award from Rotary Club for his work at Strathfield FC.
CDSFA thanks Anthony for his service to football and the Association.
