See below for all the action.

Bill Brackenbury Cup

Hurlstone Park extended their lead at the top while other teams swapped positions in an interesting weekend of fixtures for the league.

Hurlstone Park Wanderers 2-0 Enfield Rovers

Enfield went into the first match of their weekend double header looking to push for a spot in the top two and started well: having three good chances to take the lead before half time.

Unfortunately for the away team, they were unable to convert.

The second half was more evenly matched and Hurlstone Park opened the scoring through Christopher Carboni as he converted from a corner.

Enfield looked to chase the game and paid the price when Steven Georgiou sealed the game for the Wanderers in the 87th minute while Enfield were pushing up in attack.

The result keeps extends Hurlstone Park’s lead at the top of the table to 12 points.

LFC Sports 0-2 Inter Lions

Both teams went into the match on 21 competition points, so it was crucial match to see who finished the round in second spot.

Inter Lions were defensively solid with goals from Giacomo Dimento and David D’Apuzzo sealing a 2-0 victory in what was a good team effort.

Inter Lions 2-3 Enfield Rovers

Inter and Enfield both had back-to-back games this weekend due to previous wet weather, with Inter coming off a Saturday win and Enfield coming off a Saturday loss.

There were a lot of tired legs on both teams with Inter showing some good energy early despite a torrential downpour during the match.

It didn’t take long for the opening goal, and what a goal it was! Marcelo Turdera opened the scoring following some beautiful play by Enfield Rovers on the left flank. 1-0 to Enfield!

The game was by no means over though and Inter were right in the contest: equalising less than ten minutes later through Domenico Di Mento for the team to do into the sheds locked at 1-1.

Inter opened the second half with another goal with Peter Vassilis taking the lead for the Lions, but the home team quickly ran out legs.

With the tiring Inter defence and Enfield fighting hard to get back into the game, Rovers equalised with a back post header through Anthony Foti in the 60th minute.

With nine minutes to go, Foti again scored: this time with an impressive scissor kick to give Enfield a 3-2 lead that they never gave up.

Three points and for Enfield with the team rising to third place on the ladder.

Marrickville Red Devils 0-3 Burwood FC

Neither club was able to supply match information in time for publication.

Grace Martin Trophy

Only one match was played in the Grace Martin Trophy this week.

Concord B 0-3 Hurlstone Park Wanderers

Hurlstone Park leaped from Concord B and forced themselves into the top four with an impressive victory.

It was a tough start to the match under poor weather and with both teams coming out strong, it took until just before half time for the deadlock to be broken with Anneke Dykgraaff getting the first of her two goals.

Both teams continued to attack all match with chances falling for each team – but it was the Wanderers who made the most of it with Rachael Watson claiming a goal early in the second half before Dykgraaff sealing the result with another goal with 25 minutes to go.
