We were witness to another weekend of highly entertaining football in a competition that never fails to deliver on the action front.
LFC Sports and Abbotsford both enjoyed their third respective win on the bounce while Enfield’s spot at the top of the table shows no signs of being affected after they dispatched of their opponents thanks to the returning Anthony Foti.
Abbotsford – Marrickville 2-1
Abbotsford made it three wins on the trot after they saw off Marrickville 2-1 at Campbell Park on Saturday afternoon.
It was the visitors who struck first on this occasion with Martin Medina’s sublime free kick handing the Red Devils the lead 15 minutes in.
John Paul Foti equalised around 10 minutes later to ensure that both sides entered the break all square.

The match winning goal arrived with around a quarter of an hour remaining via Luis Escalante whose effort shored up the points for his side.
Abbotsford will now visit Gough Whitlam Park to take on bottom of the table Cooks River Titans while Marrickville will be back at Mackey to host Balmain.

Inter Lions – Strathfield 4-1
Inter Lions returned to the winners circle in the best way possible after they got revenge over Strathfield in their first meeting since the 2020 Grand Final.
It was a lightning quick start by the hosts who broke the deadlock through Kristopher Holbrook after just 10 minutes. Stefan De Jesus added a second just two minutes later before a Callum Sinclair double around the half hour mark gave them a resounding 4-0 lead as they headed into the sheds.
A much improved second half performance saw Strathfield prevent an onslaught as they kept Inter goalless before adding one of their own to the scoresheet courtesy of a Simon Burke penalty in the 72nd minute.
The defeat leaves Strathfield stranded in seventh while Inter occupy fourth ahead of their rescheduled fixture with Balmain on Wednesday night.
Enfield Rovers – Leichhardt Tigers 3-0
There was one man in particular who stole the headlines at Henley Park with the competition’s leading goal scorer announcing himself on the scene in the perfect way possible.
That man is of course Anthony Foti who re-joined Rovers after a stint with Dulwich Hill in the NSW Men’s NPL 3 competition.
He links up with his former side who have had a fantastic start to the season and were already leading the league prior to his return.
But you can never turn down the opportunity to be able to call upon one of the league’s most experienced marksman.
His second half brace in the 52nd and 73rd minute set Enfield on their way before Nathan Spinola put the icing on the cake with his strike on 80 minutes.
Enfield now turn their attention to their clash with Strathfield while Leichhardt Tigers have another difficult task on the horizon as they meet LFC Sports at Ashfield Park.
Balmain DFC – Hurlstone Park 1-1
Neither side could be split at Birchgrove Oval on Saturday afternoon with 1-1 the full time score in what could only be described as an even affair.
Another weekend and another Frank Calcagno goal. The Hurlstone Park striker was on hand to give his Hurlstone Park the early lead after just five minutes.
The away side were able to hold on to the advantage until halftime and looked favourites to snatch all three points until Tom Plater rocked up with a stunning volley to restore parity.
Plater connected perfectly with the corner kick to rifle home an exquisite volley for the hosts on the 69th minute mark.
The remaining 20 minutes or so saw both sides press men forward in search of a winner but it proved unsuccessful as they both had to settle for a share of the points.
Next up for Balmain is a visit to Inter Lions for their rescheduled encounter on Wednesday while Hurlstone Park will also go head to head against Inter at Ewen Park on Saturday.
LFC Sports – Cooks River Titans 4-0
Heading to Parry Park where LFC Sports recorded their third straight win thanks to their 4-0 victory over Cooks River Titans.
Lenox Tweneboa ensured that LFC entered the break with the lead as he struck just three minutes before the interval.

The second half saw the home side run away with the fixture with Francesco Giannetto making it two to the good on the hour mark before a David Parets brace in the 62nd and 74 minute respectively tied up the win.
LFC will be looking to add to their string of wins when they face off against Leichhardt Tigers next time out while Cooks River are playing out of Gough Whitlam for the first time this season as they entertain Abbotsford.
