Football Canterbury
$8,180 for a Female World Cup Introduction League.
As the World Cup is being held after the registration period for the 2023 winter season, we need to offer newly inspired participants an entry point into our sport.
We are looking to host an introduction league throughout the period on July and August to engage new participants while the World Cup is present.
This introductory league will aim to filter new players into summer football teams with the final goal of keeping them engaged until the 2024 winter season.
Leichhardt Saints
$9,895 for a Girls and Women's Summer Soccer Program.
Leichhardt Saints runs a summer girls and women’s football competition at King George Oval focussed on "fun, friends and fitness." The program has grown steadily in recent years and this grant will enhance and expand it.
Marrickville Red Devils
$7,060 for Marrickville FC Introduction Football for Female Players.
Female players will be offered a position in a 12-week introduction to football and skilled training program with accredited coaches.
The first two weeks will be a welcome and get to know football session before girls start training with their teams.
This will be followed by the skilled training program which will be developed by the Marrickville FC Technical Director. The session will be for one hour training for 10 weeks. The Skilled Training session will allow players to work on capitalising all the hard work in ball movement and progressing play to realise a finishing situation.
Russell Lea Women’s SC
$10,000 for a Girl's Leadership Program.
This project aims to develop the next generation of leaders in women’s football while simultaneously creating a female-friendly environment that helps to attract more girls to the sport.
As the only all-female football club within the Sydney region, we provide an opportunity for players who may not feel like they belong at some of the male-dominated clubs.
As a hub for women’s soccer, this project will encourage and support more girls to take on leadership roles through coaching and refereeing, which will help girls feel they belong in all levels of soccer.
