Former Leichhardt Saints and APIA Leichhardt Juniors player, Marco Tilio, has been called into Australia’s World Cup squad.
Tilio replaces winger Martin Boyle will not participate in the World Cup after he succumbed to a knee injury.
The 21-year-old who plays for Melbourne City has been with the Socceroos in Doha since Tuesday and has been participating in all sessions with the main group since his arrival.
“Marco has done everything that has been asked of him to be ready for this tournament,” said head coach Graham Arnold.
“He was an important member of our Tokyo 2020 Olympic team, he has started the A-League Men’s season well and he is familiar with the national team set up and we are looking forward to what he can bring to our squad for the tournament.”

Earlwood
The City of Canterbury Bankstown along with Cooks River Titans and Hurlstone Park Wanderers will be opening Beaman Park to the public for the Socceroos v Tunisia match.
With free activities for the kids, canteen facilities, and a barbeque, it will be wonderful evening for the family.

Summer Hill
The Inner West Council is running a live site at Summer Hill Plaza on Lackey Street.
Summer Hill’s main street will be bustling on a Saturday night with all restaurants and bars opening to create a European-style street atmosphere.
The live site will be open for the Saturday night Socceroos match against Tunisia.
Enfield
Enfield FC will be hosting a family-friendly live site for the Tunisia match at Henley Park with the activities starting at 6pm.
As well as the game there will be a free jumping castle and face painting for the kids as well we canteen facilities, woodfired pizza, glowsticks and balloon twisting.
You can also purchase raffle tickets on the night for a chance to win a 10 day P&O Pacific Islands cruise.
