Two players whjo spent a total of ten years in Football Canterbury competitions have been selected to play for the Australian U17 national team.
Danilo Treffiletti and Franklin Jan have both been called up to the Joeys squad for the first time as the national team prepares for the Antalya Youth Cup in Turkey.
Jan, a goalkeeper now at St George FC, played for Leichhardt Saints from 2013 to 2018 and spent a year at Balmain DFC.
Treffiletti, a midfielder at Serie A’s AC Monza, spent three years as a junior in our region playing for APIA Leichhardt Tigers (2013), FC Five Dock (2014), and Enfield Rovers (2015).
Both players will be looking to impress head coach, Brad Maloney, to secure selection in the final squad heading to Thailand in June for the AFC U17 Asian Cup.
The Joeys will take on Czechia, Morocco, and Uzbekistan in the Antalya Youth Cup.
