Four former Football Canterbury players have been selected in recent youth national team squads.
Alessandro Lopane, Nectar Triantis, and Adrian Segecic have all been selected in the Young Socceroos squad to compete in the AFC U20 Asian Cup.
In the Junior Matildas, Mikayla Duong has received her first ever call-up after she was invited to the U17 national team training camp as the squad prepared for the AFC U7 Women’s Asian Cup.
Duong, a midfielder, played for both Burwood FC and Cooks River Titans as a junior.
Lopane, a midfielder with Western Sydney Wanderers, played for Leichhardt Saints and APIA Leichhardt JFC. Triantis, a defender with Central Coast Mariners, played for Canterbury Lions. Segecic, a midfielder with Sydney FC, also played with Lions.
Kicking-off in March, the trio will take on Vietnam, Iran, and Qatar in Group B as the Young Socceroos look to qualify for their first FIFA U20 World Cup since 2013.
