Four teams from Football Canterbury have entered the inaugural FNSW Sapphire Cup competition.
The Sapphire Cup is a knockout competition for women open to all teams who play in Football NSW competitions.
Marrickville Red Devils, Concord JSC, Hurlstone Park Wanderers, and Balmain DFC have all entered the tournament.
Round 1
Marrickville Red Devils v Woonona Sharks JFC
Wednesday 19 April (7pm at Tempe Reserve)
Marrickville take on Woonona Sharks from the Football South Coast association. Marrickville returned to the Grace Martin Trophy this season and will be looking for positive results to gain more experience in the Sapphire Cup.
Round 2
Concord JSC v Dunbar Rovers
Wednesday 3 May (7:30m at Majors Bay Reserve)
Concord won the Grace Martin Trophy last season and will be looking to make inroads state wide in the Sapphire Cup. Dunbar are an established Premier League team, coming fourth in the Eastern Suburbs WPL competition last season.
Seaforth FC v Hurlstone Park Wanderers
Wednesday 3 May (7:30pm at Cromer Park)
Hurlstone Park Wanderers are an established Grace Martin Trophy and take on Seaforth FC from the Manly Warringah Football Association in the Sapphire Cup. Seaforth won the MWFA double last season, claiming both the league and the grand final.
Harrington United/Bulli FC v Balmain DFC
Time and date TBC
Balmain DFC await the result of Harrington United (Macarthur Football Association) and Bulli FC (Football South Coat): playing the winner.
