GMT/BBC Wrap: Wins all round

Who said football was boring? No draws and plenty of goals, braces and hat-tricks.

Hurlstone Park Wanderers enjoyed wins in both the men and the women as Leichhardt Saints A and Leichhardt Saints B enjoyed big wins in the Grace Martin Trophy.

Strathfield FC 0-2 Leichhardt Saints A

Leichhardt Saints A prevailed at Strathfield Park as both goals were scored early in the game. Strathfield FC had plenty of chances which weren’t capitalised on, particularly with Isabella Azzopardi hitting the post. Amanda Barrera-Perez opened the scoring after 12 minutes before Vanessa Calla doubled the lead shortly after which was eventually enough to seal the game.

Leichhardt Saints B 3-1 Balmain DFC

A Jasmine Sergeant brace helped her side to a stirring victory in Callan. An Annike Lindhout header opened the scoring after 26 minutes. Despite Maisie Tanner pulling back a goal from the spot before half-time, Sergeant iced the game in the final 20 minutes in a physical second half.

Hurlstone Park Wanderers 2-0 Concord JSC

It took until the second half to see a goal as both Rachel Malamo and Marion Labalan had little to do in goals in opening 45 minutes. Just moments after the break, Stephanie Kontakos continued her fine form breaking the deadlock. Maree Paradisis then helped Hurlstone Park Wanderers to victory doubling the lead in the 65th minute in challenging conditions for both sides.

Enfield Rovers 5-0 Marrickville Red Devils

Adrian Livio enjoyed his game netting a hat-trick to help his team to victory. Riccardo Romeo, and Ronaldo Ribeiro Almeida were the other goal scorers in this match as Enfield Rovers enjoyed a comprehensive victory.

APIA Leichhardt JFC 2-0 LFC Sports

This was a game which was neck and neck until the second half as spectators had to wait until the hour mark when Tony Ruggiero opened the scoring. Jamieson Mobbs shattered LFC Sports’ hearts in the final minutes to take home the chocolates for APIA Leichhardt JFC.

Hurlstone Park Wanderers 6-0 Strathfield FC

Goals galore as a Matteo Pandolfo brace ensured a comprehensive win for Hurlstone Park Wanderers. Brian McCarthy opened the scoring after 18 minutes ensuring a one goal lead at half-time. Strathfield FC couldn’t contain their counterparts as Sebastian Coello and Frank Calcagno also got themselves on the scoresheet. Hurlstone Park Wanderers with a stirring win, however they had to do it with 10-men in the final 30 minutes as Vincent Giannini was given his marching orders.
