Following the Grand Final there will be a presentation involving both teams, so please do not go straight home.
All finalists will be presented with individual medallions while champions will also receive a plaque for the club to keep, and a trophy that will be returned to CDSFA after the presentation.
Please take special note of the trophy conditions
Many of the trophies presented are of historical significance and most are named after important historical figures in football.
In recent seasons, there have been increasing instances of trophies being returned either damaged or dirty due to the impulsive actions of excited players and team officials. This leads to unnecessary costs for cleaning, repair, and replacement – as well as often permanent damage to historical trophies.
Due to the historical significance of the trophies, we want to continue to award them to winning teams, but to ensure they remain undamaged, the following conditions apply:
- For health reasons, do not drink from the trophy: they are polished with a chemical which is not fit for human consumption
- Do not spray the trophy with liquids or put liquids inside the trophy: liquid stains the trophy and interferes with the polish
- Do not remove the trophy from the venue
Team photos and individual photos with the trophy are encouraged, but it is important to treat the trophy with care and respect
Consequences for trophy mistreatment
If a trophy is mistreated, missing or damaged, teams will be issued a $500 fine to facilitate the cleaning, repair, and/or replacement.
