Football Canterbury (FC) is one of the most respected, largest, and culturally diverse Football Associations in NSW. There are over 165 different nationalities residing within the Football Canterbury footprint.

The Association has more than 20,000 individuals involved in football in its geographic region ranging from players in Under 6 to Over 50 competitions together with the various officials at all levels. Our competitions cover age groups where male, mixed (juniors only), and female football is available.

The Association is a member organisation of Football NSW and covers the inner west region of Sydney. The Association has clubs based in the Inner West, Burwood, Canada Bay, Canterbury-Bankstown, and Strathfield local government area and a part of the City of Sydney.

Football Canterbury seeks to appoint a suitable Member Service Coordinator to ensure clear and transparent communication between the internal operations of management and the member clubs and affiliates via support and communication in relation to administrative and promotional tasks.

Note: This is an initial fixed term position until 30th September 2026. A review will be undertaken in July/August 2026 for any potential continuation/amendment.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and presentation;
  • Sound understanding of the community sport landscape and dealing with volunteers in community sport;
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and website management;
  • Ability to work closely with club volunteers to provide guidance on new and best practice coaching for community footballers; and

POSITION DESCRIPTION

ROLE:                  Member Services Coordinator

LOCATION:       Ashfield, NSW

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Member Services Coordinator is a “fixed term” full-time role until 30th September 2026 providing strong engagement with member clubs and affiliates via support and communication in relation to administrative and promotional tasks.

The Member Services Coordinator will work closely with the Football Operations & Programs Manager, the Office and Events Manager, Competition Manager, and Development Officer to ensure clear and transparent communication between the internal operations of management and the member clubs.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

General

  • Represent FC in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform all duties as required by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Stakeholder communications and engagement. Including but not limited to, member clubs, neighbouring Associations, A-League clubs, Football Australia, Football NSW, and government.
  • Establish and maintain strong relations with member clubs.

Winter and Summer Season

  • Work with the Competition Manager and Football Operations & Programs Manager in programming registration campaigns for each of the Association’s main football seasons.
  • Provide registration support for the Winter and Summer seasons.
  • Work with Football NSW and the Football Operations & Programs Manager and Development Officer on specific special events and campaigns such as social and community causes, behavioural awareness, and recognition of cultural or community groups.
  • Support the Office & Events Manager in the delivery medallions/paraphernalia for the Small Sided Football Presentation Round and Premiership Finals.

Digital

  • Maintaining an Association presence on digital platforms, including but not limited to the Association website posting articles, and social media.
  • Creating digital content in collaboration with other stakeholders for the promotion of Association and approved club activities.
  • Preparing planned periodic and reactionary electronic direct messaging in collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
  • Enhancing the presence of the Association’s flagship competitions the Bill Brackenbury Cup and Grace Martin Trophy.

Reporting Analysis

  • Provide periodic reports on participation and competition related matters across the Winter and Summer seasons.
  • Provide analysis of trends in participation and competition data for the Association overall and individually for member clubs and/or Canterbury Referees Association.

Member Club Support

  • Providing assistance to clubs (on an as needs basis) with general initial registration and program information to past participants.
  • Providing assistance to clubs (on an as needs basis) in their social media presence to ensure their constituents are aware of significant items related to the Association/club.
  • Assisting Clubs with registration management in the Associations registration system for each of the Winter and Summer seasons.
  • General inquiries from member clubs

Other

From time to time perform a broad range of duties to support the delivery of:

  • Association Events, gala days, functions, workshops, courses, meetings, finals series, and tournaments.
  • Assist in the publication of online material and other promotional information.
