The Canterbury and District Soccer Football Association (CDSFA) is one of the most respected, largest and most culturally diverse Football Associations in NSW. There are over 165 different nationalities resident in the Canterbury & District Association.
The Association has in excess of 17,000 persons involved in football in its geographic region ranging from players in the Under 6 to Over 50 competitions together with the various officials at all levels. Our competitions cover all age groups in both men's and women's football.
The Association is a member organisation of Football NSW and covers the inner west region of Sydney. The Association has clubs based in the Inner West, Burwood, Canada Bay, Canterbury-Bankstown and Strathfield local government council areas and a part of the City of Sydney.
The CDSFA seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Female Football Development Officer to implement high quality, sustainable programs which aim to optimise the participation and enjoyment of female players, coaches, match officials and volunteers throughout the CDSFA’s footprint. Specifically, this role will coordinate and implement programs and services within the association’s boundaries, with a particular focus on the recruitment, retention and enhancing the football experience of female participants.
The successful candidate will have the experience, credibility and knowledge to effectively communicate with and engender the support of grassroots clubs, schools, community and sporting organisations.
The key outcomes of this role will be to:
- Increase the number of registered female players participating in winter club football
- Decrease the annual churn rate of female players throughout the CDSFA
- Increase the number of registered female coaches, referees and volunteers throughout the CDSFA
- Increase the number of club based female only leagues/competitions throughout the CDSFA
Knowledge, skills and behaviour required (competency)
- Excellent communication skills, particularly written and presentation
- Sound knowledge of MiniRoos, the Football Australia community coach education pathway and Football Australia’s Women’s Football Development Guide and Football NSW Female Football Activities
- Understanding of female participation issues and challenges within community sport
- Knowledge of the structure of football within NSW
- Strong interest in football
- High level computer skills including Microsoft Office, social media platforms and website management
- Current NSW Working with Children Check or willingness to gain one
- Desirable
- Relevant degree or tertiary qualification in sports development related field (e.g. Education, Sports Science etc.)
- Proven experience working in community sport
