National Sports and Leichhardt Saints have both been successful in obtaining grants from the NSW Government.
Thanks to the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program, players from both clubs will now be safer when it comes to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
National Sports received a grant worth $8,547 for defibrillators while Leichhardt Saints received a grant worth $2,849 to purchase a defibrillator for away matches.
These grants add to the initiatives taken over the past ten years to equip as many clubs and grounds as possible with defibrillators.
The initiatives commenced with Football Canterbury obtaining portable defibrillators for clubs, followed by helping clubs and grounds obtain funding for permanent stations at key facilities (to use of the wider community, not just football teams).
These grants mean there are now more defibrillators in our footprint.
If any clubs need funding for defibrillators, you can express your interest to be involved in the next round of funding.
