Two Football Canterbury members in Pararoos

Published Tue 31 Jan 2023

The Pararoos are playing in Sydney this Saturday 4 February and there are two former Football Canterbury participants selected in the final squad.

Former Mr P FC player, Taj Lynch, and former Leichhardt Saints coach, Ben Sutton, have both been selected for the Australia v USA match at Cromer Park.

Lynch, a midfielder, has 18 caps and one goal for the national team. He played for Mr P FC for two seasons in 2019 and 2020.

Sutton, a forward, has seven caps and coached at Saints in 2020.

The match against the USA, ranked #4 in the world, will be the Pararoos’ first game on home soil for three years.

Clubs in the Football Canterbury region have a proud history of all-abilities football with Marrickville Red Devils and Balmain DFC both having a long-established Football4All program.

Burwood FC, Belmore Eagles, Earlwood Wanderers, and Hurlstone Park Wanderers also have a Football4All program while other clubs (such as Mr P FC and ACU FC) include para-athletes in their AA teams.

To express your interest in joining any of these programs, you can find club contact information here.
