Volunteer at the IGLFA World Championships

For the first time in history, the IGFLA World Championships are being held in the southern hemisphere with volunteers needed.

Whether you're available for all four days, or just a few hours, there are a variety of positions available including:

  • Event Manager
  • Competition Manager
  • Ground Assistants
  • Registration Assistants
  • Customer Service
  • First Aid
  • Security

World Pride International Football Tournament

As a part of Sydney World Pride 2023, the IGLFA World Championships are being held in Sydney, Australia from February 20th-23rd.

What is it?

This tournament is being hosted by Flying Bats FC, Sydney Rangers FC and Pride Football Australia

  • An 11-a-side football tournament including Men and Non-Binary and Women and Non-Binary competitions (Divisions 1, 2 and Masters)
  • The tournament aims to foster an inclusive environment and we encourage all players to participate in whichever competition they feel most comfortable to play in. The Men and Non-Binary Divisions welcome participation from all genders. The Women and Non-Binary Divisions are open to all players who feel comfortable playing in that competition
  • The competition is open to a mixture of skill levels
  • An opportunity to meet and play with like-minded LGBTQIA+ sports people from around the World
  • Meet and greet events including tournament opening party and a panel discussion on Diversity and Inclusion in sport
  • The chance to be a part of the atmosphere of Sydney World Pride 2023 and associated events

What is Sydney World Pride?

  • World Pride is a global LGBTQIA+ festival that has been staged since 2000, with cities competing to host the event
  • Sydney was chosen by Inter Pride members to be the host of World Pride in 2023, marking the first time a city in the southern hemisphere had been chosen
  • Sydney World Pride will incorporate all the beloved Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras events, plus a broad festival offering across arts, sport, theatre, concerts, parties, First Nations programming and a human rights conference

Can I play in the tournament?

Yes! The tournament is all-inclusive and is open to everybody regardless of gender and preference. There are four divisions:

  • Women’s and Non Binary: Division 1
  • Women’s and Non Binary: Division 2/Social
  • Men’s and Non Binary: Division 1
  • Women’s and Non Binary: Division 2/Social

The 11-a-side tournament will be held across four days: Monday 20 February to Thursday 23 February with matches held at Tempe Reserve.

You can register with a full team or register as an individual and be assigned into a team.
